With over 25 years experience as a Museum curator, educator and administrator, Kirstin combines her love of history with the arts to promote the Museum as a vibrant and relevant landmark in the community. She provides operational oversight and is responsible for the implementation of long term strategic plans relating to the Museum programs and services.
Katherine has won awards both locally and internationally over her 20-year career in marketing and communications. She brings with her the commitment and vision required to build awareness and visitation. Along with directing the Museum's marketing strategy, Katherine works with the publicist, Yvonne Chiang to ensure a high profile within the media.
Sales and Development Manager
Tamsyn oversees the Sales department, focusing on group and trade visitors as well as memberships and museum development. Originally from the UK, Tamsyn has a background in tourism and non-profit management, previously working for Club Med, Whistler and many other non-profit organizations, including the Canadian Cancer Society.
A former teacher originally from Alberta, Deron has an extensive history working in non-profit organizations. He comes to the Museum to continue his career in facilities management and looks forward to ensuring the site is safe and clean for guests and visitors from all over the world.
Curator of Education & Collections
With a background in geology, Diane spent 12 years working for the National Museums of Scotland, before moving to BC to take up this position in 2007. Diane is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of school and education programs including exhibits. She also oversees research initiatives and the Collections management of geology specimens, archives and mining artifacts.
Maggie joined the Museum in 2005 as the Accounting Manager with 8 years of experience in the financial field. She is responsible for account payables and receivables, human resource management and assisting with the implementation of strategic business plans.
Group and Education Bookings Coordinator
Candace is a Travel and Tourism graduate with over 12 years of customer service experience, who joined the team in 2017. Originally from Ontario but moved here in 2007, she has spent most of her career working in Whistler in the Resort and Tourism industry for companies such as Four Seasons Resort Whistler, Pan Pacific Whistler and Whistler.com. This is her first position in a not for profit organization.
Kevin David Meisner
Educational Experience Designer
When not out climbing mountains and running marathons, Kevin considers himself an Imagineer for the Museum. His interest is the future of museums and their roles in our lives. While at the Museum, his focus is on conceptualizing, designing, and evaluating the experiences of our guests.
Travel and Trade Relations
Valentina has a bachelor in Tourism Management Degree and over 6 years of customer service experience. She has worked at different tourism attractions in various roles and departments. Valentina is passionate about the tourism industry, customer relationship management, market research, marketing strategies and sales and development. As the Tourism Specialist, Valentina manages the Museum's Travel and Trade accounts, keeps on top of industry trends and news and represents the Museum at industry events and conferences.
After attending the University of Victoria, Michael came to the Museum in 2011 because of his passion for educational programming. He began as an Interpreter where his passion and skills saw him quickly promoted, first to Lead Interpreter, then more recently in 2014 to Public Programmer. His particular interest lies in science related programming at the high school level.
